The Refuge at Pudding Creek is a Mendocino County sanctuary, an apple orchard deep in the coastal redwood forest of Northern California. The sound of the raven's wings overhead, the stars on clear nights, and the smell of fresh forest air all inspire, invigorate, and restore.

The Refuge is 5 miles from the ocean as the crow flies and 7 miles from the town of Fort Bragg, CA. In the winter during the big swells, it is possible to hear the ocean waves.
The Refuge at Pudding Creek has a spacious, sunny, and warm one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen that is available for rentals. The apartment is above the art barn with a private deck overlooking massive apple trees that were planted in the late 1800's. It is a perfect getaway for a quiet weekend, a place for spiritual practice, and a writer's haven.
Go on a hike, watch the birds, eat an apple, soak in the outdoor cast iron tub, make some art in the art barn, write a book, meditate, sing, do yoga, watch the creek flow, your time will be yours. The little valley, just east of Fort Bragg, CA, that nestles the Refuge experiences weather that is cooler in the winter and warmer in the summer than Fort Bragg. Check the forecast for Willits to get an idea of the temperatures at the Refuge.
The Refuge at Pudding Creek is 4 miles up a gated and well maintained dirt road. Once you book, you will receive an email with directions, more info, and what to pack.

No dogs or cigarette smoking allowed on the property.
When attending the Sunday zoom yoga class in-person, you are not on camera. You will be practicing with me in the room where I teach, but behind (not in front of) the camera.

The refuge is surrounded by miles and miles of logging roads for hiking and biking. There is a trail to the top of the Refuge that takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete.
The water on the property is from a spring located across the creek and under a massive redwood tree. It is piped to a holding tank where it is first ozonated and then double filtered. Please conserve water while you are here.
No soaps, oils, or conditioners in the outdoor soaking tub because the water is used for the flowers and apple trees.
