Effort

On the edge of the forest here at the Refuge at Pudding Creek, redwood trees stand tall. Last winter, between rains we had a man skilled with a chainsaw pull 3 trees down. They were milled on site with the vision of using the wood for various projects around the property. I had to wait (which is not my strong suit!) until the timing was right to start building with the beautiful wood. Earlier this month Joe and I set fence posts into the ground around the garden and now the deck is coming together. It can be hard to be patient, waiting with a vision that is close to your heart. But success comes when we put in the effort over time rather than creating unsustainable plans. Waiting, learning, and acting with care over the long haul can get you where you want to be. Which in this case is a veggie garden protected from animals and a beautiful outdoor place to practice mindfulness and yoga.
