Tiger Used a Few of His 9 Lives

Tiger must have used a few of his 9 lives in the last month or so. He ate something (maybe the tail of a lizard?) that made him sick for a few days. Then the wind slammed a door shut, catching Tiger's tail under it. Just a few days later, he chased a neighborhood cat (in a not-so-neighborly way) into someone else's cabin. He broke the cat door and scraped his neck while exiting backwards in a huff. In the end, he has recuperated from everything and continues to be a cat. I have recovered too!

We are still working on getting a well drilled. It turns out to be much more complicated than I had originally hoped. (Isn't that always the case!) We finally got the electro-seismic water dowsing done and are waiting for the report. We have our fingers crossed that we have water somewhere accessible to a drill rig.

Life unfolds in its mysterious and unrelenting way. Practice helps us remember that everything that arises, the mundane and the dramatic, everything, is included in the field of awakening. Your practice doesn't start when you feel peaceful and ready; it starts now when your cat is using one of its 9 lives, the world seems tipped on the edge, and it is unclear what will happen next.
